ZIXI LIU 刘子曦
b. 2000 Beijing, China
Based in London
Zixi Liu’s paintings construct spatial conditions through relationships between forms, developing a boundless field in which elements coexist, interact, and continuously transform. Tubular, biomorphic, and architectural forms operate as interconnected systems, where intrusion initiates processes of absorption and reconfiguration, altering the spatial condition itself. Surfaces remain soft, luminous, and seductive, while beneath them, organ-like forms and architectural fragments register pressure, fragility, and latent instability. Multiple tensions are sustained within the same structure.
Within this field, relationships emerge between things and organs, forming a space that is both generated by these elements and inhabited by them. The painting becomes a body—an active container in which forms behave as interdependent organs. Each work establishes a provisional home for these elements, a space shaped through their interactions and continuous negotiation, where spatial relations are staged, reorganised, and made visible.
